Brandz Top 100 2008 list out::
Brandz Top 100
A strong brand is what it’s all about. A strong brand gives much more than just good sales: it creates communities, mindsets, buzz.
The latest Brandz Top 100 list (collated by Millward Brown) is out, and of course eModeration was curious to see how many of our current and past Clients appear on it.
Millward Brown has compiled its list by analysing a brand’s financial performance and setting it alongside intangible earnings such as brand loyalty, and then inputting the brand’s growth potential. The Brandz Top 10 2008 is:
1. Google ($86.1 billion)
2. GE (71.4)
3. Microsoft (70.9)
4. Coca-Cola (58.2)
5. China Mobile (57.2)
6. IBM (55.3)
7. Apple (55.3)
8. McDonalds (49.5)
9. Nokia (44)
10. Marlboro (37.3)
Google is at the top for the second year in a row – named the most powerful brand in the world. And indeed, 28 of the top 100 brands are in the technology and mobile sector. They outperformed all other areas dramatically with a brand growth of $187.5 billion - more than half of the top 100's total increase.
We’ve not been approached by Google yet. But we were very pleased to see many of our clients in the rankings. eModeration works, or has worked with, GE, Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Nokia – all of them in the top 10. We also work with Disney, L’Oreal, Nike, Canon and Nissan, ranked 23, 38, 53,54 and 59 respectively. (Not that we’re counting, of course!)
Anyhow, a big congratulations to all of our clients who have made it into the top 100. We like to think that our committed moderation of your various forums, social networks and advertising campaigns has done its little bit to help.
