Oh, the eModeration team is having so much fun with one of our latest projects ...

In a wonderful example of interactive advertising within a community structure, mobile operator Orange has just launched ‘The Sound of Orange RockCorps’, a social music application created by digital agency Poke London. The website allows users to create and post remixes of well known tracks using their own voices for the individual notes. All you need is a PC or mobile phone to get creating. Participants can also get their friends involved in a joint effort via Facebook, creating a ‘keyboard’ of notes sung by their Facebook friends with their faces on the notes they sing.

Best ‘performances’ will be showcased on the Orange RockCorps website, which will provide regular updates, a blog, a video explaining the campaign and useful tips about how to record your own sounds.

For anyone that’s not heard of the Orange RockCorps scheme, it’s a fantastic programme that encourages young people to volunteer their time and skills to their local community in exchange for a concert ticket. 8,000 people have already volunteered this year, from across the UK, each giving four hours of their time.

Poke London and eModeration are working together to ensure that the experience that people have when participating in ‘The Sound of Orange RockCorps’ is as safe and fun as possible, reflecting the community spirit of the RockCorps programme. Go on, have a play with it - you know you want to!
